Argentine Tango

Argentine Tango was born in the late 1800's in Buenos Aires, and has been changing and evolving ever since. It is a beautiful dance form that provides endless opportunity for improvisation and playfulness.

More than anything, tango is fun, social and addictive, and we're always trying to corrupt new people.

October Series (10/6 - 10/27  2026): Playing with Music  

Progressive series with Leslie Gordon

Everyone will learn to lead and follow.

No need to bring partners, we switch regularly.

7:00-8:00  Fundamentals- Playing with Rhythm: 

Understand rhythms and phrasing, and use them to inspire your dancing. Intro to vals and milonga. This series is ideal for new dancers, or experienced dancers working on fundamentals, or the other role. 

8:00-9:00  Fundamentals- Practica

Stay for the practice led by some of the advanced students. We will review the material from the first class, and other tango basics.

8:00-9:00  Intermediate+ - Connecting with Music

Use the music to motivate your movement: dramatic, soft. playful ... Change your dance to match different music types. Play with syncopation and pauses. Techniques for both leads and follows to personalize your dancing.

Alternative Milonga/Practica:      

9:00-11:00       -get your fix of alternative and classical music

                          -various DJ's

                          -large wooden floor to try your biggest

                            and wildest moves!

Cost:     October series (4 classes)- $50 ; students $44

                drop-in before 9 (for 1 or both classes)- $15; students $13                                                                             

                drop-in after 9- $8; students $5
