Argentine Tango

Argentine Tango was born in the late 1800's in Buenos Aires, and has been changing and evolving ever since. It is a beautiful dance form that provides endless opportunity for improvisation and playfulness.

More than anything, tango is fun, social and addictive, and we're always trying to corrupt new people.

August Series (8/4 - 8/25  2026): Turns and Sacadas  

Progressive series with Leslie Gordon

Everyone will learn to lead and follow.

No need to bring partners, we switch regularly.

7:00-8:00  Fundamentals- Turns vs Ochos: 

Introduction to all the basic turns in tango. Learn to move smoothly around the dance floor, in and out of turns from ochos. Develop key techniques for both leads and follows. This series is ideal for new dancers, or experienced dancers working on fundamentals, or the other role. 

8:00-9:00  Fundamentals- Practica

Stay for the practice led by some of the advanced students. We will review the material from the first class, and other tango basics.

8:00-9:00  Intermediate+ - Sacadas vs Shared Axis Turns:

Step easily around your partner and between their legs. Create space to allow the sacadas, and move closer into shared axis spins. Key techniques for both leads and follows .

Alternative Milonga/Practica:      

9:00-11:00       -get your fix of alternative and classical music

                          -various DJ's

                          -large wooden floor to try your biggest

                            and wildest moves!

Cost:     August series (4 classes)- $65 ; students $53   

                *includes Luciana Valle workshop on August 18 7:30-9:00 

  drop-in before 9 (for 1 or both classes)- $15; students $13
